What Time Does the Stock Market Open in USA and Other Countries
Being an investor or a trader, knowing when the stock market opens is very important to your success. Trades placed during the trading time frame will usually be fulfilled and the transaction completed.
If you place a trade after hours, when the stock market is closed, then your trade will be placed in a queue and will wait there until the start of the next time the market opens and resumes trading.
What can happen is that it may negatively effect the price you will buy or sale the stock for. If you place an open order to purchase a stock at $20 a share in the off hours, news may come out before the market opens that jumps the price per share up above your price and you may pay a lot more than you originally wanted.
