Every month I post an update on my passive income businesses and my journey to quitting my job. September was a fantastic month for both my business AND my future at my J.O.B. (Just Over Broke). All the business processes, ideas, and practices that I have been implementing have been doing very well!

I have some BIG news about my plan to quit my job! Before I get into the big news, I want to give you a quick update on my passive income businesses for September.

My Passive Income Business is Doing Great!

Rental Property Business: September was one of the best months in a long time for my businesses. All the hard work I have been doing with my properties to get high quality tenants have paid off big time. Moving forward, all of these business processes I have implemented will stay a part of my business and I’ll post about my business processes soon and share them with you.

I have not bought any new properties this month. It seems to me that the best time to find a good deal on a property is in December/January. These months, most people are not buying so the market is much lower. Unless a great deal comes up, I'll most likely wait until then to get another property.

Book Writing: I currently have two books for sale: How to Quit Your Job with Rental Properties & Lasting Marriage. Both of these are selling well and this new business is really taking off! I have plans to write 5 more books in the Passive Income series and 5 more in the marriage/family series.

As of right now, I am making around $800-$1000 a month from the books. This part of my business is already off to a great start to help me earn even more money without having a job. The more time I can spend writing books, the more money I will make from my book business.

I have finished the manuscript for my second business book. It is going to be a beginner’s guide to passive income and a primer on the processes you can use to quit your job. The title is “How to Quit Your Job with Passive Income: Ultimate Beginners Guide to Wealth and Riches with 12 Proven Businesses You Can Start Today to Live the Life of Your Dreams”

THE BIG NEWS!

I Did It and Now There is No Going Back!

In last month, I posted about my step-father passing away. He was a tremendously hard worker and instilled in me the desire to be independent as well as my love for buildings and real estate. After his death, I was able to take a good look at myself and see what I was doing with my life.

There are a few things that struck me. First, I am on the right path with quitting my job with passive income ideas and all my businesses I have built. Second, life is very short. My mother and step-father both passed away at 57 years old. I am currently 37 years old and they only lived for 20 more years than I am currently.

This got me thinking about what is truly important to me and what is not. My job is not important to me. An expensive lifestyle is not important to me. Money is not important to me. What is important is: My Lord Jesus Christ, my beautiful wife, my four amazing children, and the people that I love.

All this added up to me going into my boss’s office on Wednesday the 28^th of September and told him that Jan 2^nd is my last day!

The conversation was very positive and I already informed him that I was going to be quitting in 2017 but not sure when. In our initial conversation where we talked about my quitting, I asked him if he would like me to do anything before I quit.

He informed me that it would be great to get a couple months heads up notice so he could have time to prepare and plan. I told him I could absolutely do that and that is just what I did.

An Amazing Feeling of Accomplishment to Tell Your Boss You Are Going to Quit

It was the most amazing feeling of accomplishment to tell my boss I am quitting my job in 3 months. This has been 9 ½ years of hard work to get to this point. I was 27 years old when I made a commitment to myself that I would quit my job in 10 years. Now these 10 years are up and I am 37 years old.

Because of all the hard work I did getting to this point, I am fully confident I will never need to have a J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) again. The businesses that I own are making me enough passive income in cash flow each month that I will not need to have another job again.

By telling my boss that I will quit in 3 months, I have basically sealed my fate and there is no going back. I am taking the plunge and will either sink or swim. What I do know is that I am as prepared as possible for this amazing change in my life.

Quit the Right Way and Be Prepared for Just About Everything

For the last year, I have been sharing with you all the planning I have been doing as I prepare to quit my job. So many questions came up that I needed to work out beforehand. Questions like, “What am I going to do about health insurance?” “How much money do I need in savings?” “What do I do with my vacation time?”

These questions and many others I have been working through and asking the right questions of many people. I will leave you with the following posts to check out my plan to quit my job the right way and master passive income.
